What is Dementia?
Dementia is a term used for wide-ranging conditions associated with the ongoing decline in a person’s brain function, including progressive memory loss and deteriorating thinking skills that interfere with daily activities.
Memory loss, however, may be due to stress, fatigue, certain illnesses and some medications. If you are concerned about dementia, talk to us at Montessori Seniors. Our support team will help provide information about the early signs of dementia and procedures for the necessary dementia care.
Dementia, on the other hand, goes beyond short or long-term memory loss. The warning signs that point to the onset of dementia include issues in the way a person speaks, thinks, feels and behaves. There are also many causes as well as types of dementia. In Singapore, most dementia cases are Alzheimer’s Disease and Vascular Dementia.
